Our client needed to establish a clear, organisation-wide network direction in a complex operating environment. The university had experienced significant technology leadership change and decision-making was distributed across a broad executive governance group. This made large-scale technology change difficult to align, approve and execute.
The campus network supported critical university operations at significant scale. Key infrastructure was approaching end of life, creating risk for business continuity, resilience and future service delivery.
Our client required a strategy that could build executive confidence, prioritise investment and initiate practical renewal activity.

We worked with the internal network team, technology leaders and stakeholders outside the technology department to analyse the current network, gather requirements and define a future direction.
We formulated a network strategy based on a set of major strategic priorities that reflected the organisation's key activities for the following years.
Following acceptance of the strategy, we helped initiate the highest-priority action: the refresh of the campus distribution network. This included advocating for the criticality of the campus network, helping executives understand operational risk, preparing the business case, developing the go-to-market strategy, creating technical tender content and evaluation criteria, and supporting the evaluation of tender responses.
