THEIR BUSINESS CHALLENGE:
Our client is a large and diverse Australian government agency responsible for delivering essential public services across a broad geographic footprint.
Through years of organisational change, including agency restructures and organic growth, our client had inherited a highly complex network environment supporting thousands of staff across hundreds of locations.
The existing network included multiple wide area networks, internet perimeters, cloud service provider networks, cyber control points and complex routing arrangements. This created operational complexity, increased the difficulty of securing and segmenting services and made it harder to support the agency's transition to multi-cloud environments and a future cloud-only target state.
HOW RESPIRO WAS ABLE TO HELP:
We worked with the technology executive team to define, communicate and implement a consolidated network strategy.
We designed a target state centred on one integrated network, supported by new on-premise and cloud core networks, clear routing models, consolidated Internet perimeters and cloud-ready architecture.
The strategy provided a foundation for zero trust user networks, cyber network control points for segmentation, multi-cloud networking, SD-WAN connectivity with local internet breakout, cloud-based cyber controls for internet traffic, improved remote access, and simplified site failover models.
