As its environment expanded, it required consistent, secure connectivity across private, on-premises, and public cloud platforms. The department also needed deterministic connectivity across all environments, including direct Azure-to-AWS communication that reduced reliance on the on-premises core network. The target design needed to improve resilience, redundancy, traffic protection, and operational consistency across the full multi-cloud environment.   **RESPIRO'S APPROACH:** Respiro designed and implemented a cloud core network connecting the department’s private clouds, two data centres, Azure, and AWS. The platform used a third-party underlay over inter-data-centre ethernet, with Azure ExpressRoute and AWS Direct Connect integrated locally. The solution enabled direct Azure-to-AWS traffic, redundant cloud paths from each data centre, and encrypted traffic between on-premises and public cloud environments. It also gave the department a consistent routing interface for simpler day-to-day management.   **BUSINESS OUTCOMES:** The department now has a resilient, high-performance cloud core network that supports current operations and provides a scalable foundation for future initiatives.
